At this year’s Watches and Wonders Exhibition, Vacheron Constantin launched the Overseas Moon Phase Reversal Day a> as part of its impressive selection of novelties. This watch introduces the first in the coveted Oversea collection to feature a reverse display. For Vacheron Constantin, the reverse display is characteristic of the brand’s living heritage and its constant drive to reinvent itself. Shaped in a cool blue color scheme, this new model epitomizes modern functionality with a classic design aesthetic.
With a moderate diameter of 41mm, the watch sits 10.48mm high on the wrist. Clad in steel, the streamlined exterior transitions seamlessly into the bracelet or integrated strap. On the back is the exhibition case back, allowing a glimpse of the movement ticking inside. Vacheron Constantin offers three distinct options for protecting the watch, a blue calf leather strap, a polished and satin-finished steel strap, and a blue rubber strap.
The dark blue dial provides a lush backdrop for the reverse display that is characteristic of Vacheron Constantin design. Spanning the top half of the dial’s circumference, the date is indicated by a blue arrow-shaped hand. Depicting two golden moons and a starry sky through an aperture at 6 o’clock, the precise moon phase indicator only needs adjustment every 122 years.
Powering this watch is the self-winding caliber 2460 R31L/2. It has the ability to indicate hours, minutes, stop seconds and of course operate a retrograde date and moon phase. Comprised of a total of 275 parts, the mechanism provides a complete power reserve of 40 hours.
