TAG Heuer is welcoming the Year of the Chinese Dragon with two limited editions of the classic Carrera chronograph, featuring vibrant red accents associated with Chinese festivals. The 42mm diameter case, made of stainless steel and 18k rose gold, showcases the original style of the iconic Carrera with polished piston-style pushers, large crown and angular lugs. The sun-brushed silver dial for the steel version and the sun-brushed 18k rose gold-plated dial for the gold version are subtly reminiscent of the Year of the Dragon.

Carrera Chronograph models feature a reverse panda dial, with contrasting red snail-shaped sub-dials displaying 30-minute elapsed time and a 12-hour counter. The subsidiary seconds hand is located at 6 o’clock, where there is also a discreet date window. The central chronograph seconds hand and hour indices are highlighted in red lacquer, matching the dragon motif on the case back.

The dragon comes to life in the background. Said to bring many positive things and support the growth of love and family, this mythical creature is printed on a sapphire crystal, winding around an open-worked rose gold rotor. Powered by a state-of-the-art in-house made Heuer 02 movement, equipped with a column wheel and vertical clutch, the Carrara Chronograph Year of the Dragon offers an impressive power reserve of 80 hours.

Limited to 300 steel watches and 50 rose gold watches, these special editions come with a red alligator leather strap and come with a special red gift box. Price is marked at $22,550 for the gold version and $6,300 for the stainless steel version.
