Genesis’ unique hypercar concept X Gran Berlinetta has powerful performance with a capacity of up to 1,071 horsepower and maximum torque of 1,337 Nm.
Recently, on the occasion of the final of the GT World Series 2023 e-sports racing tournament taking place in Barcelona (Spain), Genesis introduced a concept car called X Gran Berlinetta. Not only does it have an extremely bold design, this car also has a hybrid gasoline-electric powertrain system with extremely impressive performance.
Hyundai’s luxury car brand created this X Gran Berlinetta with a low body, long hood, cabin located in the rear body with many curving curves and unique integrated air intakes that have contributed to achieving the coefficient of Wind resistance Cd is only 0.34 which is very impressive.
Genesis’ signature Quad Lights strip surrounds the Crest grille and stretches to the rear across the central locking wheels. The rear of the car stands out with a unique elliptical design, soft curved taillights, below is a large diffuser, and comes with F1-style brake lights.
The interior of the X Gran Berlinetta is a combination of luxury, sportiness and minimalism and neatness. The large HUD-style driving screen displays necessary information, along with the information display screen mounted on the steering wheel.
Genesis designers emphasized touch points with large knobs located on the steering wheel, doors and dashboard. The seating system is covered in fabric and has thick cushions.
Genesis has shared the specifications of the X Gran Berlinetta. The hybrid powertrain includes a combination of a mid-mounted Lambda 11 V6 engine (870 horsepower, 1,071 Nm) and a Yasa E electric motor (201 horsepower, 266 Nm), providing a total capacity of up to 1,071 horsepower Maximum force and torque of 1,337 Nm.
“Our goal was to create a timeless design rooted in the essence of motorsports,” said Genesis senior design director John Krsteski. We have a diverse design team of car and racing enthusiasts from around the world. Designers relished the opportunity to create a race car that featured Genesis design elements as well as technical performance characteristics. It became the catalyst that inspired our other plans.”
It is still unclear whether the Genesis X Gran Berlinetta concept is likely to be developed into a commercial version or not. Just know that this concept reflects the bold design ideas that the Genesis brand under Hyundai is aiming for in the future.
In addition, because it is an idea born from the Vision GT project, Genesis X Gran Berlinetta will also appear in the virtual world, more specifically in the game developer’s sports car racing video game Gran Turismo 7. Polyphony Digital on PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5 platforms. Vehicles will be available in the upcoming January 2024 update.
