The Ferrari brand recently launched a unique version, the Ferrari SP51, a special roadster version designed based on the front-engined 812 GTS. Created for a client in Taiwan by Ferrari’s Special Projects department and Ferrari design director Flavio Manzoni, the SP51 retains the basic proportions of the 812 but features bespoke wheel and lighting designs. separate and softer, more flexible bodywork for a refined classic look.

The blue and white color running from head to tail also evokes Ferrari’s past, specifically the 1955 Ferrari 410 S racer. However, the three-layer Rosso Passionale paintwork developed especially for this project brings giving SP51 a more impressive appearance.
Even though the body of the 812 GTS has an aluminum structure, Ferrari has made extensive use of carbon fiber, some of which is exposed to change the look of every panel, including the hood, and contrasts the two Composite frame air vents below the windshield.

The most eye-catching detail in the SP51’s design is the horizontal carbon wing connecting the two platforms located behind the driver and passenger seats. Ferrari says this is a stylistic detail to the targa designs used on 1960s sports prototypes, in which the center bar adds strength and conceals a safety roll ring.

Ferrari also claims that the details on the car are relevant to the owner at every step. These details are found in the interior thanks to the inclusion of two specific ideas. One is to incorporate the blue and white paint from front to rear inside the interior by applying this detail to the dashboard and center tunnel.

The brand also uses Rosso Passionale color for the classic Alcantara seat fabric. However, the car’s interior makes a change from the boring old black and impresses with blue and white stitching, another link to the stripes on the outside. The SP51 is likely to be equipped with a 6.5-liter V12 812 Superfast/GTS engine that produces 789 horsepower at 8,500 rpm and 718 Nm of torque at 7,000 rpm.
