This is also the most challenging project in the history of the Bugatti Sur Mesure customization program to date, requiring more than 400 hours just to complete the exterior of the supercar.
The customer considered the Chiron Super Sport a “landmark in the automotive world”, so he requested Bugatti to create a truly unique masterpiece based on this model, with the goal of The purpose is to pay tribute to the great things that the Molsheim-based brand has done in the past. The design team proposed the idea of depicting sketches manually on the car body and was accepted by the customer.

Under the rear wing there is also a sketch of 3,712 details that make up the W16 engine and the words “Golden Era”. A bespoke yellow color called Doré was chosen as the basis for the sketches, while Nocturne Black covers the front of the car.
Inside the car cabin, drawings of 3 Bugatti models appear on each side door. The driver’s side has the EB110, Veyron and Chiron while the passenger side has the Type 35, Type 57 SC Atlantic and Type 41 Royale. Under the door sill, each side has numbers written on the door representing the era of the corresponding vehicle, with the driver’s side being “1987 – 2023” and the passenger side being “1909 – 1956”.
The car’s interior exudes classic luxury through two beautifully contrasting leather colors with matte carbon fiber details. The interior also includes “Golden Era” stitching on the seats, and the word “one-of-one” is attached to the center armrest, showing that this is a unique masterpiece.
Each drawing that appears on the Chiron Super Sport Golden Era is selected and carefully calculated in size to arrange in the appropriate position. The team of artisans implementing the project had to apply a completely new manual pencil drawing technique to ensure that these drawings are durable over time, do not fade over the years, even can last far beyond the life of the vehicle. Therefore, they also take a lot of time to complete.
According to Achim Anscheidt, former Bugatti design director and the person responsible for managing this project, the opportunity to create a special masterpiece like the Golden Era is extremely rare. Even by Bugatti standards, each year only 1 or 2 customers order a project of this magnitude.
The Bugatti Chiron Super Sport Golden Era will be handed over to owners at the 2023 Monterey Car Week event and will be displayed alongside other unique cars. Although the selling price has not been announced, experts believe that the complexity of this project is a factor that ensures the car’s value will definitely exceed the $3.5 million of the “standard” Chiron Super Sport.
